The Broward Center for the Performing Arts Launches Backlot Live at the Broward Center

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is launching Backlot Live at the Broward Center, an all-new outdoor experience.

Events offer a one-of-a-kind evening of entertainment under the stars

at the Lillian S. Wells Backstage Parking Lot

Today’s top entertainers are set to take Broward Center’s all-new outdoor stage by entertaining fans under the stars. With the increased interest in outdoor events by artists and audiences, Backlot Live at the Broward Center literally brings audiences to the stage door as they enter the Lillian S. Wells Backstage Parking Lot, an area usually reserved for the stars and their crews. now converted to a seated event space. Comedy star Rob Schneider, the thrilling concert In the Light of Led Zeppelin, a musical tribute to one of America’s Greatest rock bands with Best of the Eagles (BOTE) and the pop and classical crossover sensation Well-Strung are the first three events to go on sale for the new Backlot Live at the Broward Center experience.

Schneider kicks off the new venue on Friday, January 22 at 7 and 9:30 p.m. A household name, Schneider is one of the most popular touring acts in comedy and well known for his trademark blend of character and comedic acting. He created and stars in the Netflix docu-series Real Rob, which focuses on the day-to-day hijinks of his life. Schneider first came to prominence on NBC’s Saturday Night Live and won three Emmy® Awards as part of its writing staff. His films include Grown Ups, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, Big Dadd, The Waterboy. Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Hot Chick and The Animal. This event contains adult language or content. Tickets start at $40.

A supergroup of six GRAMMY® Award-nominated musicians perform In the Light of Led Zeppelin on Saturday, February 20 at 6:30 and 9 p.m. From start to finish, it’s a musical journey through the best of Zeppelin classics as well as the symphonic orchestrations of Jimmy Page & Robert Plant and some of the greatest solo work of both men. “It’s not a tribute, it’s an experience!” is the reaction from fans all over the world and the male and female band members are classically trained musicians chosen because they are the best players, regardless of gender or resemblance to the original artists. Antonio Bolet, the musical director and lead guitarist of In the Light of Led Zeppelin, created this musical interpretation with technical note placement carefully designed for the listener to feel the music and experience it as new. Tickets start at $25.

Called the most exact interpretation of the music of the Eagles in the nation, The Best of The Eagles is presented by Sun Concerts, LLC on Saturday, February 27 at 5 and 8 p.m. Each member plays the instrument and sings the vocals of his counterpart in the Eagles as this group of excellent musicians expertly and authentically recreates the songs and magical aura of one of America’s greatest rock bands. Tickets are $25-$40.

Well-Strung, a string quartet with a modern twist, is set to perform Saturday, March 13 at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Featuring Edmund Bagnell (violin), Christopher Marchant (violin), Daniel Shevlin (cello) and Trevor Wadleigh (violin), Well-Strung performs universally recognized classical pieces while singing pop music hits from the likes of Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson and other pop stars for a uniquely engaging experience. The New York Times described them as “A talented quartet of men who sing and play instruments brilliantly fuses pop and classical music from Madonna to Beethoven.” Conceived by Mark Cortale and Christopher Marchant, the foursome has gained international attention with performances in the UK, Italy, Austria, Russia and Turkey. Their recent third album entitled Under The Covers debuted on Billboard’s Classical Chart at No. 3 and the Classical Crossover Chart at No. 4. Tickets start at $40.

 

Backlot Live at the Broward Center seating allows for 6 feet of physical distance and tickets are only available in pods of 2, 4 or 6 for patron safety. Tickets are available online at BrowardCenter.org and Ticketmaster.com, the only official ticketing service of the Broward Center.

 

Face coverings are required at all times unless actively consuming food and beverages in designated seating areas. Food and beverage will be available for sale and must be consumed only at patrons’ seats. Health and safety guidelines will be followed and are available at BrowardCenter.org under the visit tab. These events are wheelchair accessible.

 

Personal chairs, coolers, outside food & beverages, weapons of any kind, pets of any kind (except service animals), tents or staking are prohibited.

 

Ticket sales benefit the Broward Center’s Road to Recovery Fund to support operations as the Center prepares for the day when the doors reopen, the curtain rises and the lights return to the Broward Center Stages.
