Ribbon Cutting to take place at 10:30 a.m
Museum of Discovery and Science
401 SW 2nd St.
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312
Join Joseph P. Cox, president & CEO of MODS and Caitlin Stella, CEO, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, as they welcome MODS newest traveling exhibit, Planet Pioneers: Journey to Space, to South Florida.
Aspiring space travelers: Jump into your space suit and report for astronaut training in Planet Pioneers: Journey to Space, where becoming an astronaut is all about adventure, exploration and endeavor.

Guests will take on the physical and mental challenges in the astronaut training center, experience a rocket launch, explore life on a Space Lab and investigate how to do science in space to complete a mission. This special STEM exhibit provides future astronauts with the opportunity to “travel to space” without leaving the Museum!
The exhibit focuses on teamwork to solve problems, accurately perform tasks and overcome challenges that an astronaut would face on a real mission to the cosmos.
Guests can experience g-force, conduct maintenance on a space station, grow space food and learn the realities of showering, sleeping and using the toilet in space.

The traveling exhibit will run from January 28, 2022 through May 15, 2022 and is free with Museum admission.
The event also will unveil a special partnership announcement – MODS and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital have entered into a multi-year agreement to be named the Exclusive Children’s Hospital Sponsor of the Traveling Exhibit Gallery.
