On March 24, 2023, members and friends of the Gold Coast Jazz Society will gather for the organization’s annual fundraising evening with a Gala Night.  The event will take place at the newly decorated Coral Ridge Yacht Club, 2800 Yacht Club Drive in Fort Lauderdale, FL and begins at 6:00pm.  The evening’s festivities will include a cocktail hour, dinner, jazz, and dancing.  Music will be provided by the stellar student jazz musicians of the UM Frost School of Music.  Dancing will feature Swing Out South Florida.  Reservations are $150 per person and are required in advance.  To make a reservation, call the Gold Coast Jazz office at 954.524.0805.

Sheila Bechert and Susan Goldstein (Co-Chairs) and the Society’s Board of Directors, are the committee for this special fundraising evening.  Proceeds will benefit the Gold Coast Jazz Society, a non-profit organization whose mission is to perpetuate and advance the cultural form of jazz through performances, education and outreach activities.  OutClique Magazine is the media sponsor for this event.

The Gold Coast Jazz Society, established in 1992 by Frederick Ruffner and a group of avid jazz buffs from South Florida, first began presenting concerts at the historic Riverside Hotel, located on the famous Las Olas Boulevard.  The organization has grown over the years and presents a variety of activities including a jazz concert series at the Broward Center’s Amaturo Theater, the in-school jazz education program, JazzSLAM, the First Friday Jazz Jams program for student musicians as well as member and social events.  In addition, Gold Coast Jazz has a robust jazz scholarship program to support aspiring young jazz musicians.
