By Mark B. Kent, Executive Director, Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida
It seems as if every day, we hear new threats against the rights of LGBTQ+ people. It can be unsettling, to say the least. But now is a time when we need to come together, united in force and purpose. At the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida, this is the primary focus of our concerts and our performances in neighborhoods across South Florida.
I invite you to gather with the community at two events this month. First, we have a fairy-tale-themed brunch, and auction fundraiser on March 12, 2023, called Once Upon A Time. With tickets priced at only $100, it is a great way to connect with others, celebrate who we are, and have great fun. Second, on March 24, 2023, at The Parker, we are performing our spring concert, Songs of the Phoenix. This uplifting concert celebrates our ability to triumph over adversity. What an important message to hear right now! Attending this performance will renew your spirit and give you hope.

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is growing rapidly, and we are bringing our messages of love and inclusion to more and more people throughout South Florida. In addition to expanding our mainstage concerts and building our singing membership, we have stepped up our outreach performance schedule. Reaching more than 20,000 people each year, our singers visibly and vocally represent you and the LGBTQ+ community. We are your voice and your advocate. To continue this critical work, we need your financial support. Please give generously so we can open more minds and change more hearts than ever.
Whether you attend one (or both!) of our March events and/or donate, I thank you for being a part of the GMCSF family. Together, we can build a better future for all people.
