Celebrate Lantern Festival with Lantern-at-Home Kits from Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens has announced it will
not be hosting its annual Lantern Festival this year on October 17 due to the COVID-
19 pandemic.

The museum understands how meaningful and magical this holiday is to their
guests and will be offering beautiful Lantern-at-Home Kits to light up at-home
celebrations and welcome home beloved ancestors' spirits in honor of Obon.

To participate, Morikami invites the public to take photos of their toro
nagashi (literally, flowing lanterns) in a pool, lake/ocean, bathtub (get creative!) and
share them on Instagram using the hashtag #lanternathome and tag

@morikamimuseum. All participants who share a photo submission by October 12,
2020, will be entered for a chance to win admission for two to Lantern Festival
2021. Ten winners will be announced on October 19, 2020.
Lantern-at-Home Kits ($20) can be purchased in the Morikami Museum Store or
online and support the museum’s mission to provide Japanese cultural experiences
that educate and inspire.

The Lantern-at-Home Kit includes a wood base, white wishing paper, a tea light and
a link to exclusive Lantern Festival content made available only for Lantern-at-
Home participants.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is located at 4000 Morikami Park Road,
Delray Beach. For more information, visit Morikami.org or call (561) 495-0233.
