Broward Performing Arts Foundation Announces Harry Connick, Jr. to Perform at 2022 Annual Celebration

Grammy® and Emmy® award-winning artist Harry Connick, Jr. lights up the Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, January 28 for the Broward Performing Arts Foundation’s 2022 Annual Celebration, presented by Dr. Lee and Brigitte Mandel, South Florida Sinus and Allergy Center.

The festivities begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. on the Wendt Terraces at the Huizenga Pavilion.  At 7 p.m., the Annual Celebration guests will take their VIP seats in the Au-Rene Theater for Connick’s performance. After the show, the party continues with an elegant dinner and dancing on stage. Proceeds from the evening support the education and enrichment programs at the Broward Center.

A gifted interpreter of the Great American Songbook, Connick will showcase classics from his remarkable 40-year career. Acclaimed as an actor, singer, bandleader and composer across multiple platforms, Connick’s honors include a star on the celebrated Hollywood Walk of Fame; three Grammy awards; two Emmy awards; sales of more than 28 million albums; and Tony® nominations as both composer/lyricist for the musical Thou Shalt Not and as the lead in the Tony-winning revival of The Pajama Game. For his latest release recorded during the pandemic, Alone With My Faith, Connick wrote and arranged many of the songs, played every instrument and sang every part.

“Harry Connick, Jr. is the ultimate performer who is one of the most talented and respected in the industry. We are thrilled to have him headline the Annual Celebration,” said Lisa Kitei, president of the Broward Performing Arts Foundation. “Everyone who attends this spectacular concert is in for a fantastic evening of entertainment, and at the same time, they will be supporting the Broward Center.”
