held its third annual Check Awards event at Hunters Night Club in Wilton Manors, Florida, on October 10, 2024.
This year’s grants from the totaled $110,000, disbursed among eight South Florida agencies aligned with FLoatarama’s mission to support LGBTQ+ Youth. This brings the total grants made by FLoatarama to $252,134.
The 2024 grant recipients included:
- ($10,000 funding LGBTQIA+ Violence Healing program)
- ($10,000 funding the Changing Room project)
- ($10,000 funding Content Creation Task Force)
- ($10,000 funding Clean Start program)
- ($15,000 funding LGBTQIA+ Youth program)
- ($15,000 funding youth band and soloist scholarship)
- ($20,000 funding a safe haven for homeless LGBTQ+ Youth)
- ($20,000 funding health & wellbeing services for LGBTQ+ youth).
Hosted by , the evening was fun and festive, with over 200 attendees celebrating philanthropy and the LGBTQ+ community. The presentations filled the audience with inspiration and a message of philanthropy and inclusion. In addition to the grant awards, participants generously donated an additional $2,280 to the FLoatarama LGBTQ Youth Fund.
