This summer is filled with exciting things to do and experience at the Bonnet House Museum and Gardens!

Orchid Care Classes 
Tuesday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 13, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  • For green thumbs and orchid enthusiasts alike, mark your calendars for Bonnet House’s two Orchid Care classes taught by Bonnet House Orchid Curator, Jose Exposito, along with his team of orchid care experts. Delve into Orchid planting 101 and the basic cultivation techniques or the art of repotting and mounting orchids, while learning invaluable tips for combating pests and diseases. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a novice with a passion for plants, these classes promise to elevate your gardening game to new heights. Jose Exposito, the founder of Soroa Orchids, is a senior judge of the American Orchid Society and is a world-renowned speaker and has spoken at World Orchid Conferences in Brazil and Malaysia. He has been featured in Orchids Magazine, Vogue, Martha Stewart Show, and in many other national and international publications.
  • Cost: $30 for Bonnet House members, $35 for non-members.

TOURS
**Family Summer Special** Self-Guided Tours
Saturday, June 1 – Sunday, September 1
Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Bonnet House welcomes families with open arms, offering its Family Summer Special where families can explore through self-guided tours, the Maine House, the sprawling gardens, meander along nature trails, and immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the subtropical landscape. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife hidden among the trees and aquatic wonders in the lakes and ponds—a treat for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
  • Cost: $25, children aged 17 and under receive free admission (must be accompanied by an adult).

Guided Tours
Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Saturdays, 10 a.m.

  • Looking for a guided tour? Experience Bonnet House with one of their seasoned docents. A 90-minute docent–guided tour will lead you through the rooms of the Main House where you will learn the history of the Birch/Bartlett family and discover the charm and whimsy of this beachfront estate.
  • Cost: $30 per person, Ages 6-17: $10, and reservations are required.

VIP Upstairs/Downstairs Tours
Wednesdays, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

  • For those eager to delve deeper into the history and secrets of Bonnet House, don’t miss the exclusive VIP Upstairs/Downstairs Tours. Led by docents, these small-group 90-minute tours offer a sneak peek into the private living quarters of Evelyn and Frederic Bartlett, the estate’s former owners. Explore areas of the house rarely seen by the public and uncover the hidden treasures that lie within. Pre-registration is required, so secure your spot ahead of time for this unforgettable journey through time.
  • Cost: $40 per person, with limited reservations available.
