Each year, in recognition of Pride Month and the fight for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community that began at the Stonewall Riots, Compass Community Center hosts the Stonewall Ball. Held during the last Saturday of June, the ball is a time for the LGBTQ+ community of Palm Beach County to celebrate the progress that has been made in the quest for equal rights.
This year, Compass turns 35 and we are planning to celebrate at this year’s Stonewall Ball! The ball is a 21+ extravaganza that is split into two parts: The VIP Cocktail and Award Reception and the “Lightning” Dance Party.
The 2023 theme is “Back to OUR Future”. Over the last 50 years, the LGBTQ+ community has made fantastic strides towards acceptance and equality. Unfortunately, the current political rhetoric threatens to set us back. We are focused on getting BACK TO THE FUTURE for which we have fought so hard.
