Mr. Eagle 2024 Already At Work

By John Hayden

It was a moment of triumph and reward for Steven Crespo. The triumph: being named Mr. Eagle 2024. The reward: the feeling of knowing he has the love and support of his peers.

Crespo’s reign is just getting started and he’s making the most of every day. He talked with OutClique at the Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival in March. “This is my first fundraising event since the title. It’s going well.” At the time he was planning an event for April, so check for details at EagleBarWM.com.

The levels of pride and joy were palpable that night. When asked to relive the moment he was announced as the new titleholder, Crespo says “It was amazing. The judges saw in me someone who has passion and is driven. I will accomplish my goals.”

A Chili Reception

Mr. Eagle is bringing a foodie fave to Eagle. April 7, 2024, he’s hosting a chili cookoff at the bar. “We need people to bring chili to be judged. There are prizes.” Then, Crespo says, comes the best part. “We eat.”

But next month is the biggest month. Crespo heads up to Chicago to compete in International Mr. Leather (IML). He’ll hold a fundraiser to cover costs associated with the travel and competition. “I’m also working on a couple of projects for after IML,” he said.

Crespo won’t be doing this on his own. His brothers in leather will be there with him selling raffle tickets, getting auction items, or whatever Crespo chooses to do.

Often overlooked by people outside the leather community, is the sense of brotherhood. Many only see hot guys in leather outfits, and possibly smoking a fat cigar. But look a little deeper, and there is much more to it.

“Absolutely. We’ll all be together,” he said. When it was suggested he has a long year ahead of him, Mr. Eagle said it was just the opposite. “I’m sure it will go pretty fast.”
