Juneteenth Urban Mixer: A Celebration of Pride and Legacy

On Juneteenth, celebrate the journey and achievement of our Black community builders at the first ever Juneteenth event in the City of Wilton Manors. The Legacy Builders produces their second annual Juneteenth event, Juneteenth Urban Mixer. This is a celebration uniting community to collectively celebrate the Pride and Legacy of African American culture.

Juneteenth Urban Mixer is an opportunity to bridge generational gaps through artistic expressions, art exhibits, social dialogues on navigating crossroads of leadership and service, intersectional conversations that raise awareness and provide education about Pride, and Legacy from Black leaders who have impacted our community.

Juneteenth Urban Mixer fosters community and honors our activists, outreach advocates, medical professionals, healthcare professionals, civil servants and many more influential leaders from our Black communities in South Florida. We celebrate as a community their success in diversity, equity, and inclusion, the struggles and achievements of Black LGBTQ+ people, and the anniversary of African American liberation.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate the legacies of our community builders and give them their flowers while they can still smell them”, says President and Founder of The Legacy Builders, LaTonya Hopson.

Juneteenth Urban Mixer is held at No Manors, from 7p to 10p and after party to follow. The event is all inclusive.

We are extremely grateful for community support from Wilton Manors Business Association, McCourty Twins Foundation, G Girls of South Florida, FlockFest, Hotspots, OutClique Magazine, OutSFL, No Manor, and Winn Entertainment.

If you would like to support the event with a sponsorship or the organization with a donation to further community empowerment and transformation through collective impact, artistic expression, and holistic development that preserves our legacies and celebrates our history please email latonyahopson@buildersoflegacy.org for more information.
