Grab your sailor’s hat and get your boat shoes, FLoatarama will return to Fort Lauderdale in June for their fourth year, bigger and better than ever! What began as a group of friends celebrating Pride on their boats during the 2020 pandemic has grown into the largest Pride on Water in America, and a way of raising funds to support at-risk South Florida LGBTQ+ youth. In 2022 FLoatarama awarded $50,000 in grants to 4 local non-profit organizations with programs focusing on at-risk LGBTQ+ youth, and plans for more giving, and bigger and better events in 2023!
The signature FLoatarama Flotilla will take place on Saturday, June 10, 2023, featuring fabulously decorated boats proudly cruising the New River and Intracoastal Waterway, with an exclusive experience for 400 celebrants on the magnificent 130-foot M/Y Catalina leading the fleet. FLoatarama is greatly honored that Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will serve as Flotilla Grand Marshal.
FLoatarama 2023 is presented by Hunter’s Nightclubs Wilton Manors, a pillar of South Florida LGBTQ+ nightlife and philanthropy. Hunter’s will serve as the host for a Captain’s Party on Thursday, June 8th, a Welcome Happy Hour on Friday, June 9th, and Hunter’s team will staff the bars on the Catalina as part of an enhanced VIP experience.

In 2022, FLoatarama launched the FLoatarama LGBTQ Youth Fund to support at-risk youth in partnership with The Our Fund Foundation. That partnership ensures that the funds raised by FLoatarama will achieve their greatest impact in the community. In 2022 FLoatarama awarded grants totaling $50,000 to SunServe, Pridelines, South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble, and the YES Institute. In 2023, 100% of all ticket sales from FLoatarama will again go to support the FLoatarama LGBTQ Youth Fund.
2022 also saw the introduction of the FLoatarama Founder’s Club, beginning with an initial 50 members and families who committed to supporting FLoatarama’s mission and work year-round. Due to the initial success of the Founder’s Club, membership will expand in 2023. Asked about the dramatic growth of FLoatarama in 2022, FLoatarama President Scott Schramm remarked, “2022 was an amazing year for FLoatarama as we focused on how we can improve the lives of at-risk LGBTQ+ youth, and the community responded by coming out and celebrating and giving generously, and we were so thrilled that we were able to make these grants that are helping to improve the lives of those who need it most, young people who are continuing to face so many challenges in today’s world.”
The 2023 Flotilla, featuring decorated private boats plus charter vessels with ticketed celebrants, launches from Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale at 1:30pm on Saturday, June 10, proceeding down the New River and up the Intracoastal Waterway, ending at Sunrise Bay.
