A Hanukkah Message from Mayor Dean Trantalis

The arrival of the holiday season is a joyous time that allows us an opportunity to come together and celebrate all of what truly matters in life – family, friends, loved ones, health, and happiness. This is a moment to reflect on the highs and lows of the past year, reconnect with one another, and look forward to the days ahead.

The holidays are a time to reflect on the many gifts that life has given us and reach out with kindness to those in need of support. A touch of compassion and sympathy can mean everything in the right moment.

Now is also the time to express our gratitude. I am grateful for everyone who lives and works in Fort Lauderdale and helps strengthen our vibrant city every day. Together, we form a diverse, resilient and inclusive community where all of us have the potential to be our best selves and see the best in others. I also am grateful for the generosity of our neighbors, the dedication of our municipal employees and the commitment of those who answered the call to keep us safe.

My sincerest hope is that all of you have a chance to relax and find peace this holiday season. There’s no better place to be than Fort Lauderdale, and I am excited for all of us to continue moving forward and making the future a brighter place for everyone.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all and wish you the best. Happy holidays!

Sincerely,

Dean
