As we gather with family and friends to celebrate our nation’s independence this Fourth of July, we should take time to celebrate the values of freedom, unity, and democracy that bind us as a community and as a country. This is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by countless individuals who have fought for our liberties and to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we celebrate this Independence Day, let’s renew our commitment to the principles of liberty and justice for all. Let’s strive to make our community an even better place, where everyone feels valued and respected. Fort Lauderdale’s strength is its diversity, and our blend of cultures, traditions, and beliefs embody the American spirit and truly make this a place unlike any other.

Let’s also take a moment to recognize the efforts of our local law enforcement, firefighters, and all of the first responders who work tirelessly to ensure our safety, not just on this holiday, but every day of the year. Their dedication and service are truly commendable.

There’s no better time than now to come together as a community and enjoy the moment. On behalf of the entire City, I extend a warm invitation to the 4th of July Spectacular on the Fort Lauderdale Beach and Las Olas Oceanside Park. The excitement kicks off at noon on Thursday, July 4, with fun for the entire family. R&B pioneers En Vogue headline the evening with a 7:30 p.m. show before fireworks light up the sky.

Enjoy the celebrations, stay safe, and let us all take pride in the incredible spirit of our nation. As always, this is a great time to be in Fort Lauderdale.
