New World Symphony, America’s Orchestral Academy, presents the highly anticipated return of Beer and Brass at the New World Center on Friday, April 15th at 7:30pm. For the first time in the New World Center performance hall, guests will experience a lively evening with a chamber music recital performed by NWS Brass Fellows and served selected beer pairings that emulate the program’s repertoire. Program and ticketing information can be found at nws.edu.
Conceived of and curated by six NWS Brass Fellows, this event, now in its 4th year, presents a recital of chamber works paired with a flight of five beers in partnership with Veza Sur Brewing, Wynwood’s Latin Craft Brewery and Bar. The program reflects the colorful flavors of Veza Sur and represents the vibrant spirit Miami with inspiration from the diverse communities that make up Miami.

“Beer and Brass is a special experience for audiences because we’re engaging our pallets to inform our musical performance – which is completely different from your average concert” says NWS Tuba Fellow Andy Abel. “The concert will make use of all our senses (hear, smell, taste, sight, etc.) to celebrate culturally diversity within the American experience.”
This year, Beer and Brass will be presented for the first time on the New World Center stage. The evening will bring Veza Sur to Miami Beach transforming the New World Center into Miami’s hottest Latin brewery. Guests can enjoy bar-inspired activities and music prior to an interactive concert experience that explores the harmonious relationship between notes of taste and sound

“It has been such a joy to work with the fellows of the New World Symphony over the last 3 years developing the Beer and Brass program,” says Veza Sur’s Community Manager Pedro Goicouria. “Pairing music with beer seems so intuitive to me, yet not many people are attempting to do it. Pairing the senses of taste and hearing seems unnatural to some, but I think if the pairings are on point and you’re willing to close your eyes and really focus on your senses, you can create some magic.”
Ticket holders must be 21 years of age or older and present a valid ID at the door. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online at nws.edu or through the box office by calling 305-673-3330.
ABOUT THE NEW WORLD SYMPHONY
The New World Symphony, America’s Orchestral Academy, prepares graduates of music programs for leadership roles in professional orchestras and ensembles.
