Symphony of the Americas Artistic Director, Pablo Mielgo, conducts Symphonic Masters: Stravinsky and Rachmaninov on March 15, 2022 at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Amaturo Theater.
Stravinsky and Rachmaninov, two masters of symphonic composition, discover diverging musical styles. After leaving their homeland, their days end reunited in America. The musical performance demonstrated the power of music and its prominence to transcend on a global scale.
The symphony series will present Igor Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite, a collection of eight orchestral excerpts from Stravinsky’s ballet of the same name, and Sergei Rachmaninov’ Symphony No. 2 which remains one of the composer’s most popular and best known compositions.
