On April 11, 2026  at 8 p.m., Resonance of Strings & Keys will be held at Sunshine Cathedral in Fort Lauderdale. Sunshine Cathedral’s music administrator and pianist Dr. Jihong Adams-Park will collaborate  with violinist Laura Gonzalez for the classical performance, which is a dialogue between two instruments and expresses a conversation about emotions and feelings. The performance begins with a piece that symbolizes optimism and then moves on to another piece about intimacy, closeness, and love.

This marks the third time Adams-Park and Gonzalez have joined forces. At this point, their artistic rapport is unmistakable — a shared musical sensibility and natural chemistry that shines through in every performance.

“We kind of communicate nonverbally through the sound and that doesn’t happen often. We’ve gotten  to where we know each other very well.  We know what we want, what she wants as a soloist and we have a similar music taste when it comes to performing together,” said Adams-Park, who has been performing at Sunshine Cathedral for three years.

As for his hope for the upcoming concert, the message is clear and heartfelt.

“I want them to leave the concert with the feeling of being seen. You are not banned from here because you dress unusually, we would love to have anyone in the audience come and share their time with us, and in return we will share our music,” said Adams-Park.

Sunshine Cathedral is a Christian inclusive church that welcomes anyone to join.

“Sunshine Cathedral promotes authenticity, being free, and being honest of yourself,” said Adams-Park.

Adams-Park, who has been living in South Florida for over 20 years, was familiar with Sunshine Cathedral before working there.

“I knew there was a LGBTQ spiritual community, and when I was almost finished with my doctorate, I needed money. Someone reached out to me saying they needed a pianist. I would have turned it down if the church were slightly conservative, because of my sexuality, as a gay person,” said Adams-Park.

The message from Sunshine Cathedral is no matter your sexuality or religion, you are always welcome to express who you truly are.

Sunshine Cathedral’s Performing Arts provides various performances including, drag queen performances, stand-up comedy performances and musicals that have a strong message behind them.
