September 17 – MUVE International Cleanup Day 2022
It’s time for the 37th annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC)! Join us for the world’s largest, one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways, and show your commitment to reducing marine debris, along with millions of volunteers from across the globe.
Spearheaded globally by the Ocean Conservancy, VolunteerCleanup.org organizes Miami-Dade County’s local participation in this annual event with 45+ simultaneous shoreline cleanups around the county and is made possible by the generous support of our presenting sponsors Covanta and Rickenbacker Marina, with additional support from Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Verizon, Miami-Dade County RER-DERM, Pubbelly Sushi, and Greenberg Traurig.

No school? No problem! Our dynamic Mini-Camps are the perfect action-packed solution to a Teacher Planning Day. Kids (ages 5 – 11) will spend the day exploring the museum’s interactive exhibitions, conducting science experiments, and making new friends.
Has your little one ever wondered what it’s like to be a forensic scientist? Have them come explore the world of forensic science where a fingerprint or a left behind fiber could be the key to identifying the culprit. They’ll get a hands-on look at cutting edge technology scientists use to solve crimes and put themselves to the test as they analyze evidence just like the professionals
October 3 – Partner Event: An Evening with Neil deGrasse Tyson at the Arsht Center
Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist and the author of the No. 1 best seller Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, among other books. He is the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History, where he has served since 1996. Dr. Tyson is also the host and co-founder of the Emmy-nominated podcast StarTalk and its spinoff StarTalk Sports Edition, which combine science, humor, and pop culture. He is a recipient of 21 honorary doctorates, the Public Welfare Medal from the National Academy of Sciences and the Distinguished Public Service Medal from NASA. Asteroid 13123 Tyson is named in his honor.
His new book, Starry Messenger: Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization, will be published in September. The purchase of each full price ticket includes a copy.
An Evening With Neil deGrasse Tyson will be moderated by Dr. Doug Roberts, vice president, science education and director of the Frost Planetarium at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and presented by Books & Books, Miami Book Fair, Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and Adrienne Arsht Center.

Is your mini explorer curious about what goes into digging up a dinosaur? Campers will learn about the scientific techniques used for excavations, explore our fossil collection, and learn about where dinosaurs and humans fit in the geological timeline. They’ll get the chance to meet with Dr. Cary Woodruff, the Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology at Frost Science, and explore what it takes to have a career in paleontology.
October 8 – New Exhibition: Ultimate Dinosaurs: Meet a New Breed of Beast
Step into the shoes of a paleontologist and uncover some of the most significant dinosaur discoveries from the Southern Hemisphere over the last two decades. Ultimate Dinosaurs reveals a new breed of dinosaurs that evolved in isolation in South America, Africa, and Madagascar—dinosaurs unfamiliar to popular imagination. Cutting-edge technology puts a new twist on bringing these prehistoric creatures to life in the 21st century!
Ultimate Dinosaurs: Meet a New Breed of Beast will be on view from Saturday, October 8, 2022, through Sunday, April 23, 2023, inside the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery on the first floor of the museum. Admission to Ultimate Dinosaurs: Meet a New Breed of Beast is included with all museum admission tickets.
October 9 – Mini-Me Science: Digging for Dinos (Coming soon)
Mini-Me Science is a monthly program at Frost Science designed for you and your little one (ages 2 – 5). You’ll share experiences that engage the senses while promoting exploration and discovery through hands-on activities that are specifically designed for early learners.
Ready to roar? Help us search for lost dinosaurs while we explore the work of paleontologists and archeologists. Through this special guided experience your little one will discover what it is like to be a paleontologist by searching for items from the past. We will dig and explore until every last dinosaur has been discovered!

October 29 – 6th Annual Spooky Science Monster Mash
Join us on Saturday, October 29 for a spine-tingling science adventure. From colorful chemistry concoctions to eye-catching and eerie experiments, you’ll spend the day doing hands-on science that’s so fun, it’s almost scary. You’ll also meet scientists from local universities and professional organizations, including the South Florida Chapter of the American Chemical Society, who are helping Frost Science celebrate National Chemistry Week.
