Julian’s Fountain of Youth (JFOY), a growing nonprofit organization focused on helping LGBT+ youth reach their full potential, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a five-year lease with two additional options to renew at 2365 – 2357 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors at the site that was once the popular thrift store Boomerang. CEO and Executive Director of JFOY, Julian Cavazos, added that the organization will open the Wilton Collective in the new location in an effort to expand its community involvement, work programs and experiential learning services.

“I’m excited about growing our youth work programs with the launch of the Wilton Collective,” said Cavazos. “Our first youth work program, called Fountain of Treasures, is a men and women’s thrift and consignment store located across the street from the Wilton Collective at 2378 Wilton Drive. Thanks to its success, we’re developing additional youth work programs. I truly feel we’ll bring a whole new vibe to the drive and create wonderful opportunities for our youth.”
Cavazos disclosed that the new location will not only be JFOY’s home office, but a collection of businesses (such as a grab-n-go, meeting area, barbershop, and home goods and accessories) enabling our youth to work and learn in a safe and accepting environment.
“The services provided by JFOY at Wilton Collective will provide a safe and supportive sanctuary for LGBTQ+ youth to build self-esteem, create social connections, develop leadership skills and participate in event planning and community engagement opportunities without having to compartmentalize their identity to fit in or feel safe,” said Scott Rivelli, President of JFOY’s Board of Directors.
Rivelli added the Wilton Collective aims not only create jobs for local youth but hopes to provide additional services in the near future such as providing housing for homeless youth.
Cavazos said there are many ways the public can support FJOY’s work. The 503(c) nonprofit is seeking in-kind services such as painters, plumbers, electricians, and general contractors. It is also looking for supplies such as Home Depot or Lowes gift cards, restaurant equipment, bathroom fixtures, and furniture. Members of the community are strongly encouraged to become volunteers in one of the two locations, working one or two days a week.
