What A Guy!

You know that face. You just know that you know that face. However, you can’t quite place from where. Was it on Broadway? In a concert hall? In a film or on television? If you picked any or all of the above, your memory serves you well. Cheyenne Jackson is a versatile, accomplished actor and contemporary vocalist whose professional success crosses all genres. His personal life can only be described as a purposeful existence designed to leave a legacy of advocacy and of love.
On Thursday evening, November 5, 2026, Mr. Jackson will perform his newest concert, “That Guy from That Thing,” at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center. The evening is presented by the Broward County-based non-profit Generation Venetian Arts Society, GENVAS, as part of their United We Stand concert series. GENVAS is best known for creating original programming reflective of current events. United We Stand reinforces their continued commitment to utilizing the arts to share powerful messages of love, hope, and acceptance for all human beings, regardless of their sex, race, creed, religion, or sexual orientation.
“That Guy from That Thing” provides a vehicle through which Jackson invites the audience into his world. For Jackson, the concert allows “the audience to experience vulnerable moments and a shared experience.” He uses jokes and music to take his patrons on a musical journey curated from diverse sources. Selections include classics from the Great American Songbook and pop hits made famous by Elton John and Sara Bareilles. Next, we head to Broadway to celebrate the contributions of Bernstein, Sondheim, and more. The evening marks Cheyenne’s GENVAS debut and is produced in collaboration with the City of Lauderhill.
Jackson’s Broadway career includes celebrated roles in Into the Woods, Xanadu, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Aida, The Performers, Once Upon a Mattress, Finian’s Rainbow, All Shook Up (Theatre World Award), and most recently the smash hit Oh, Mary!. Jackson’s television credits include appearances in “American Horror Story,” “30 Rock,” “Glee,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Doctor Odyssey,” “Call Me Kat,” “The Morning Show,” and “American Woman.” He also starred in “Julie and the Phantoms,” where his portrayal of a rock star earned him critical acclaim and an Emmy nomination. As a contemporary vocalist, Cheyenne has concertized at legendary venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Kennedy Center. He received a GRAMMY nomination for his collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony for his portrayal of Tony in West Side Story, conducted by the legendary Michael Tilson Thomas.
When asked about his career, he said, “Deciding to go to New York City when I was 27 to give Broadway a shot was my best career choice. However, I don’t have a favorite genre. I love whatever I’m doing at the time. Live theater and concerts provide instant gratification. Film allows you to take your time, and television forces you to make quick choices and trust yourself. Carnegie Hall was a dream come true, but I try not to get too much in my head.”
Aside from his immense talent, Cheyenne is a proud gay man who has spoken publicly about his experiences growing up queer and embracing his identity. In 2014, he married actor Jason Landau, and the couple share twins. Jackson is a longtime supporter of equal rights and has served as a spokesperson for amfAR and organizations like the Hetrick-Martin Institute supporting LGBTQ+ youth. Jackson encourages advocates of the LGBTQ+ community to “be seen, be heard, speak up, and show up.” He asks that members and their allies “protect one another and put their money where their mouth is.” For all people, but especially children, he encourages them “not to dream it, but to be it.”
Lastly, Cheyenne wants everyone to know that “he loves you.” From all indications, it appears that he is loved in return.
