Offers a Unique Night Out While Giving Back to the Community

November 18, 2019 will herald the 14th annual “Taste of the Island” from 6:00 to 9:00PM (entry gate closes at 8:00PM) where guests will enjoy the most popular offerings of a diverse array of 40 food and beverage establishments on the verdant grounds of Richardson Historic Park and Nature Preserve in Wilton Manors, FL.

A new feature of the event this year is live jazz performed by select members of the nationally renowned Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble. “This is the first time the event has featured live music,” said Jeff Sterling, event president. “We are always striving to go to the next level for our guests, and we do that with the help of some amazing sponsors, such as Grieco Ford, iHeartRadio, Wilton Manors Community Affairs Advisory Board, and Waste Management, to name a few.

“Another way we keep the guest experience high is by spreading the event throughout the park. We try to make space for people to move easily among our vendors. We want our guests to be able to take their time, so that they can really savor the experience.”

“Wilton Manors embraces diversity of all kinds and that includes the culinary scene,” said Mary Ulm, event vice president. “The restaurant line-up includes some exciting new-comers such as TooJay’s, Almacen de Empanadas, Burgers & Beers, CAO Bakery & Café, and Even Keel Fish & Oyster, along with returning favorites such as Kelly’s Landing New England Seafood, Rendez-Vous Bakery and Bistro, 5th Element Indian Grill, DelacaSeas Café, and Wilton Discount Liquors, Inc.” A complete list of restaurants is available at www.TasteOfTheIsland.org/Restaurants.

Discounted tickets at $30 are available through October 31, 2019 and at $35 starting November 1, 2019 through the event date. Tickets are also available at the door for $40. Tickets may be purchased locally at Wilton Manors City Hall and at Wilton Manors Public Library. You may also purchase tickets online at www.TasteOfTheIsland.org.

Free regular event and handicap parking is available at City Hall, Hagen Park (2020 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL) with FREE shuttle service to and from the event. 20 VIP parking spaces are available on site at Richardson Park for an additional charge and can be reserved online in the ticket purchase section.

Ticket sales benefit the programs of the Wilton Manors Entertainment Group, Inc., Wilton Manors Historical Society, Wilton Manors Kiwanis Club, and Wilton Manors Leisure Services Department. “These groups do great things within our community,” said Sterling. “They add a lot of value to our quality of life. You can feel great about lending them your support.”
