Venetian Arts Society’s Grand Salon

Steven LaBrie and Roberto Berrocal

Venetian Arts Society (VAS), a not-for-profit tax exempt 501(c)(3), is a membership-based organization that highlights the multi-cultural and inter-generational diversity of the South Florida community through a celebration of multi-disciplinary arts in intimate and interactive art salon settings.

The VAS Grand Salon begins with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at 6:00PM and moves into the theater for the 7:00PM Salon Concert. Following the performance please join us for a champagne toast and dessert with our guest artist.

VAS offers everyone, whether novice or connoisseur, the opportunity to observe and interact with major international performing artists in a unique, multi-faceted and fun artistic-educational-social experience.

Venetian Arts Society, partnered with Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and John Knox Village, presents “Arts for the Ages,” a multi-generational/multi-cultural fine arts program. The goal is to synthesize the total artistic, social, and educational experience and to enrich the individual lives of all in our community through meaningful and purposeful artistic presentations, evoking the vibrancy, energy, and sheer productivity that result when people of all ages come together.

Steven LaBrie, a native of Dallas, TX, is beginning to attract attention for his beautiful timbre, expressive singing and dramatic presence. Mr. LaBrie was recently named among the five leading lyric baritones to watch by Opera News.

His recent 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 season included Sarasota Opera, Florida Grand Opera, New Amsterdam Opera, Opera Steamboat, San Antonio Symphony, Brooklyn Art Society, Sacramento Philharmonic, Tulsa Opera, Opera Omaha, and San Diego Opera. Mr. LaBrie also made his return to Carnegie Hall in the Three Baritones Sing American Songs concert, on the occasion of a CD release.

Mr. LaBrie has received numerous awards and honors including a 2016 Top Prize award and a 2013 Encouragement Grant from the George London Music Foundation. See more about Steven LaBrie at www.StevenLaBrie.com.

Roberto Berrocal is the Founding Artistic Director of the St. Hugh-Steinway Concert Series. He is also the Principal Coach and Pianist at Florida Grand Opera. The international reviews acclaim him as one of the leading Basque pianists of his generation, due to his technical virtuosity and musical sensitivity.

Mr. Berrocal began his piano studies in his native Spain at the Santurce School of Music with Alicia Ubieta, then on to the Conservatory of Bilbao where he received the Honor Prize. He made his debut as a soloist with orchestra at age 18 with the Metropolitan Community Orchestra.
