On August 15, 2019 the Sunshine Cathedral staff, the Cathedral Board of Directors, and the Sunshine Cathedral Foundation Governors and Heritage Board gathered with leaders of Our Fund and other distinguished guests to celebrate the creation of the Sunshine Cathedral Fund at the Our Fund agency.
Our Fund supports philanthropy throughout South Florida and has awarded grants to Sunshine Cathedral’s Food Sharing Program for two consecutive years.
The Sunshine Cathedral Fund at Our Fund was made possible because of a large bequest. Sunshine Cathedral was the beneficiary of the Greg P. Jones Trust which was created by Letty McNeill. Sunshine Cathedral and the Sunshine Cathedral Foundation jointly agreed to invest the money with “Our Fund.”
People may donate to the fund to help it grow. The Sunshine Cathedral Fund at Our Fund will generate supplemental income for the Cathedral, helping with operational expenses as well as bricks and mortar needs. Sunshine Cathedral depends on the financial support and volunteer efforts of those who call the Cathedral their spiritual home and the new Sunshine Cathedral Fund will provide one more opportunity for people to offer support for Cathedral ministries.
Sunshine Cathedral is a progressive spiritual community with a primary and affirming outreach to the LGBTQ+ communities and their allies and loved ones. The Cathedral ministers to people through worship, use of the physical campus, religious education, social media, publishing, pastoral care, prayer, food sharing, arts programming, social justice advocacy, and more. Sunshine Cathedral enjoys partnering with like-minded service organizations that serve our diverse community.
